Legend Homes teamed with Builders Post Tension (BPT) to help raise money for Breast Cancer Research
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign that helps raise awareness of the disease and how it impacts women around the country. Legend Homes and Princeton Classic Homes are showing support for the cause by using pink cables to reinforce home foundations.
Each year, the Legend Homes family partners with Builders Post Tension (BPT), a full-service concrete reinforcement materials and rebar supply company, to use limited-edition pink cables in new homes throughout the Houston area. The pink cables serve as a visual reminder that women can beat breast cancer if they have strong support systems and access to excellent medical care.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer for women. In the United States this year, it is estimated that 281,550 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed, and an estimated 43,600 women will die from the disease. Yet from 2013 to 2018, the overall death rate from breast cancer decreased by 1% each year, which experts believe can be attributed to treatment advances and earlier detection.
The money raised by BPT is used in part to help fund these medical advances, as it is donated to MD Anderson for breast cancer research. This year, the company expects to donate at least $20,000.
